You’ll find our hostels in some of the most desirable, sought-after spots in the country. All of our hostels are centrally located right in the heart of the town they’re in, close enough to all the adventure, activities and nightlife that’s on offer. Fear not however, our locations and policies ensure that whatever is on your itinerary, you will have a sound, restful sleep in our luxurious dormitories and private rooms.

the gaming lounge
Downstairs at Golden Tussock Queenstown you’ll find our gaming lounge — a relaxed room off the main bar that stays open long after the day trips get back. The floor has a bank of gaming machines, a handful of table games including blackjack and roulette, and a small stage that gets used for live music and quiz nights through the week.
The lounge is open from 6pm until late, seven days. There’s no dress code beyond tidy casual — leave the ski boots at the door. Entry is free for house guests and visitors alike, and the bar keeps serving until close. Staff are happy to walk first-timers through the table games before the evening gets busy.
Entry is restricted to people aged 20 and over and photo ID is checked at the door, in line with the Gambling Act 2003. Gaming is on-site only — we don’t run any online play. We take Host Responsibility seriously: staff are trained to spot harmful gambling, break periods and self-exclusion are available on request, and there are no cash machines on the gaming floor.
